Christmas Evening

Tuesday December 25th 2012

Well as you may have noticed we had a brief, 10 minute window of Internet service as we sailed past Wellington around 6.45pm today. I just managed to upload 2 blog entries, download email & make 2 brief comments on Facebook before I was disconnected. Oh well ... luckily I made my phone calls Christmas Eve.

We headed off to dinner about 7pm & as expected the restaurants were all busy. Tonight we dined in the Vivaldi Dining Room as it had a couple of immediate vacancies. The food was fantastic .... Entree of mixed seafood (scallops, prawns, crawfish tails & caviar) yum! Then I had grilled halibut fish with asparagus, sautéed leek, snow peas and mash. It was amazing. Mike had the more traditional roast turkey with roast veggies, stuffing & cranberry sauce. They also added a couple of slices of baked ham. He loved it. We had a nice NZ Sav Blanc with it.

After dinner we went to the Princess Theatre to watch the late show. Tonight was a new performer, a Canadian comedian who just boarded in Wellington. He was OK but I wouldn't pay to see him. Following that we wandered out to the Crooners Lounge (yes we are regulars, so much so that the waiter brings our drink without asking!) to listen to some great singing & piano from Dan. We managed to stay awake through the first set, then came back to our room to find, instead of 2 chocolates, a little stocking with candy canes, 4 chocolates & some lollies. Very cute (see photo).

I have added some random photos of our beautiful cruise through Marlborough Sound all taken from our balcony. Think I have taken about 200 just today.

Off to bed now after a wonderful Christmas Day! Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did :)
