Beautify Sunny & coolish day 14 - 21C
Another early start and down to breakfast by 6.45. On the coach and Headed out just before 8am. We stopped at some thermal mud pools for photos, then again at beautiful Huka Falls so have lots of photos.
After that we headed to Lake Taupo, what a beautiful spot! First we drove around part of the lake, then stopped in the town for a coffee and wander around. We would love to revisit one day at our own pace as we didn't stop long enough in my opinion.
More scenic driving and then a lunch stop at a gorgeous little place called Taihape. The cafe was called Brown Sugar .... Very quaint and great food.
Then off once again towards Wellington, more beautiful scenery and we arrived at our hotel around 5.30pm.
The weather today has been fantastic, bright & sunny except for a brief shower when we were on the road. Driving into Wellington was just gorgeous with the harbour at its best. Docked was the Dawn Princess which was also in Auckland when we were there. It is a busy time for cruise ships in NZ at present.
Dinner was here at the Hotel, buffet but lots of nice salads & vegetables (yes I am still being good) & fruit for dessert. Did have 2 ciders though (fruit juice is good for you right?). Now 9.30pm so time to update this entry, download photos and have it ready to post tomorrow as this hotel has no free Internet. Not that I can't. Afford to purchase it, just that I have made the commitment to only use the free variety so trying to stick with it. It's always a challenge to find it each day though as many hotels only provide the paying variety. There are a couple of coffee chains who actually sell decent coffee and have free Internet, although we don't always stop near them.
